Knowing what the test entails in advance will help you prepare for the day of the exam. Three parts of the reading subtest must be finished in 60 minutes: parts A, B, and C. A wider range of reading abilities will be tested through questions, including reading for general concepts (the "gist" of a text), opinion, and attitude. Candidates must read and skim four brief health-related texts (labeled A, B, C, and D) for Part A, then respond to 20 questions about the readings. All health professions can understand the vocabulary and structure of the writings. A graph, table, or flow chart, for example, are included in at least one of the texts. Increasing your vocabulary (including synonyms) is one of the best things you can do to score better on the Reading Sub-test. You will find it simpler to recognize and comprehend what you read and heard if you do this. As a result, you will be better able to respond to inquiries about the test's texts.
